Privacy policy for SyncRoom
Operator and location
SyncRoom is operated from Japan. A public street address is not currently published for the service.
What SyncRoom stores
SyncRoom stores account information needed to operate the service, including your email address, display name, handle, avatar selection, session cookies, and room activity you create inside the platform.
GDPR and privacy rights
If GDPR or similar privacy laws apply to you, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability for personal data we control, subject to legal limits and identity verification. You may also withdraw consent for optional cookies or similar technologies at any time through the cookie banner controls presented on the site.
Room and interaction data
When you host or join a room, SyncRoom stores room metadata, membership state, chat messages, moderation actions, and activity timestamps so the experience can stay synchronized and recoverable across devices.
What SyncRoom does not store
SyncRoom does not store the shared source videos loaded into rooms on its own servers, and it does not store participant webcam streams as a hosted media library. Room media is relayed or embedded for live session use, while service records remain limited to account, room, moderation, and interaction data needed to operate the platform.
How data is used
We use stored data to authenticate users, show active rooms, manage private access, deliver synchronized playback, support moderation, and surface identity details such as host name and profile image where they are relevant to the product.
Cookies and similar technologies
SyncRoom uses essential cookies and local storage to keep sessions active, remember sign-in state where applicable, preserve site preferences, and store your cookie choices. If optional analytics or similar tools are introduced later, we will update this policy and request consent where required before enabling them.
Legal bases and retention
We process data to perform the service you request, protect the platform and its users, comply with legal obligations, and pursue legitimate interests such as service reliability and abuse prevention. Data is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for account operation, moderation, security, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
Private rooms
Private rooms are not listed for public discovery. Entry is controlled by the host through passwords, invite links, or other access rules supported by the service.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect accounts, sessions, and room activity. No system can promise absolute security, so users should also protect their credentials and use trusted devices and networks when possible.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. When updates are material, we will revise this page so visitors can review the current version before continuing to use SyncRoom.
Contact
Privacy questions, GDPR requests, data requests, cookie questions, and legal notices should be sent through the support or contact channel made available inside the service. If a dedicated contact email is published later, this page will be updated to reflect it.
